Meet Miso- Novembers Pet of the Month.

When given the opportunity, people are more than content to show off their pets, always claiming that theirs is the cutest and flaunting pictures without hesitation. This month, The Lake set out to find the ‘Pet Of The Month,’ by asking Standley Lake students to submit pictures of their animals. Amongst all of the submissions that The Lake received, there was one special cat that stood out. Meet Miso.

Tori McNary ‘22 is the lucky owner of Miso and says that he is an eight month old Long-Haired Burmese kitten. Tori recalls many memorable moments with Miso but says her favorite was when she first got him.

“My favorite memory of him is when I first got him. He was so tiny and cute and I was so excited! My mom got Miso from her hairdresser’s friend and brought him home shortly after. My sister and I went home one day and he was just there,” says Tori McNary ‘22.

Kittens in particular are known to be extremely mischievous, exuberant and even a little sleepy. According to Tori McNary, Miso lives up to the stereotype.

“He is playful, sleepy and affectionate. He really likes to play with our dog and he loves playing with all of his toys,” explains McNary ‘22.

Miso's favorite toy is a fish stuffed animal and his favorite activity is to chase the family dog around the house. He is very fond of playing and cuddling with Tori and her sister, Jessie McNary.

Miso is undoubtedly a fun loving and spirited kitten that enjoys to play, eat and lounge around the house. McNary says that she is extremely grateful to have a cat like Miso in her life. The Lake is very excited to have Miso as November's “Pet Of The Month '' and to have the opportunity to share his story.
